Dr. Cooper graduated from the prestigious University of the Pacific Dental School in San Francisco in 1971. After graduation, he spent two years in an intern program at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, California. He then moved to Santa Barbara in 1973.

Fifteen years later, dentistry had progressed to the point where it became necessary to relocate. It was at this time that Dr. Cooper began researching, developing and designing his downtown Santa Barbara dental office on Anapamu Street, which has resulted in the beautiful, comfortable, state-of-the-art office you see today.

An avid sailor, Dr. Cooper has been racing sailboats since he was twenty years old. He has won trophies for long-distance ocean races and Olympic-class Star Boats.

Dr. Cooper is an enthusiastic gardener and skier who also enjoys walking and cooking for friends. Automobiles, football and his beloved dogs are his passion. His dedication to community service has led Dr. Cooper to serve as a Eucharistic Minister at All Saints Episcopal Chuch in Montecito and later as a Catholic at the Old Mission - St. Barbara's Parish.

Dr. Cooper has been a member of the Downtown Organization since 1988. He has served the City of Santa Barbara as a member of the Transportation and Circulaion Committee and the Downtown Parking Committee. He has taught cardio-pulminary-resusitation at St. Francis Hospital and the Santa Barbara, Ventura County Dental Society.

Dr. Cooper has a daughter, Amber, who lives in Denver Colorado with her family. His son Christopher married a lovely Spanish lady, Rosario, and they live in Zaragoza Spain with their family. After his divorce, Dr. Cooper married his high school and college sweet heart, Kathleen.
